TravelWatch INVESTIGATES

IOM is the most vulnerable Island Community in NW Europe to ferry breakdown
The Isle of Man, although one of the larger island communities in North West Europe, is the only one dependent in winter on a single vessel for its freight and passenger services. The effect of the Ben-my-Chree going out of service for more than a few days
would therefore have a far greater effect on the population of the Isle of Man, than the loss of a vessel on any other of these other routes would have on the island communities they serve.
