Fast craft services - Manannan

Fast craft services (Spring/Summer/Autumn) operate from the Pier Head Terminal in Liverpool – near the Liver Building. Access information for motorists is available on

Foot Passenger check-in is at the terminal on the Landing Stage - access is via a walkway on the bridge from the vehicle marshalling area

  • 101 buses (Cumfybus) operate every 30 mins between Liverpool Lime Street station (the stop is on Skelhorne Street at the side of the station), Queen Square Bus Station, and Princes Parade (IOM terminal)  The journey time is approx 25 mins.

  • The nearest Merseyrail station is James Street on the Wirral Line – this is about 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. 

  • Mersey Ferries operate from Pier Head to Seacombe and Birkenhead Woodside hourly through the day.

Winter weekend services - Ben-my-Chree


Conventional ferry services between Nov and late March, operated by the Ben-my-Chree, use the (Stena) Birkenhead 12 Quays terminal.

Foot passenger information:


  • For departing passengers, coach transfers to Birkenhead are usually arranged from  Liverpool Landing Stage. For passengers arriving at Birkenhead a transfer to Liverpool Landing Stage and Lime Street Station is provided leaving after the arrival of the vessel. Transit time is around 30 minutes. Timings and service are subject to change so check with IOMSPC at the time of booking.

  • There is no public transport serving the Twelve Quays terminal which is being used for Steam Packet winter sailings. The nearest Merseyrail station is at Birkenhead Hamilton Square 
  • Local buses run from Woodside, near Hamilton Square Station and the Woodside Mersey Ferries stage.
    



Through Sail & Rail tickets to most UK mainland railway stations can be booked via the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company (in person only), and at main staffed UK railway stations.

Please note that passengers are responsible for making their own way between the railway station and the appropriate ferry terminal although, in the case of arrivals at Birkenhead, the courtesy coach to Liverpool Pier Head may be able to drop passengers at Lime Street station.
